Der Tiger Von Eschnapur, by Fritz Lang (1959)

An architect travels to the remote city of Eschnapur to oversee some work being done at the bequest of the local Maharajah. Along the way the architect meets and falls in love with a beautiful temple-dancer. The Maharajah also loves this dancer and plans to marry her despite fierce opposition from factions within his own court. The dancer responds to the architect's advances and they flee from Eschnapur but are captured by the Maharajah's soldiers. To save the architect's life, the dancer agrees to marry the Maharajah. This sparks a revolt which is eventually put down.

Um arquiteto viaja para a remota cidade de Eschnapur na Índia, para supervisionar um trabalho encomendado pelo marajá local. Pelo caminho, o arquiteto conhece e se apaixona por uma bela dançarina do tempo. O marajá também gosta da dançarina e planeja se casar com ele, a despeito da forte oposição das facções existentes na corte. A dançarina aprova os avanços do arquiteto e eles fogem da cidade, mas são capturados pelos soldados do marajá. Para salvar a vida do arquiteto, a dançarina concorda em se casar com o marajá. Isso faz criar uma revolta, que acaba sendo debelada.
