I for Icarus (I..Como Ícaro), de Henri Verneuil (1979)

Um exame controverso de um magnicídio (assassinato de uma pessoa ilustre) do ponto de vista de um inteligente investigador. Um presidente reeleito de um país fictício (embora as bandeiras denotem uma similaridade com a dos EUA) é assassinado , similar à morte de John F. Kennedy em 1963. A seguir, um teimoso procurador investiga uma possível conspiração por detrás da morte. No curso de sua busca, ele encontra evidências que mostram sérias dúvidas sobre a teoria do comitê de investigação do assassinato de ter sido cometido apenas por um atirador independente. As coisas dão errado, quando ocorrem mortes de muitos daqueles envolvidos, incluindo várias testemunhas, a supressão de provas de outros e levando a consequências inesperadas e com um final surpreendente.

O título "I como Ícaro" é uma metáfora do mito grego de Ícaro. Ele morreu por voar muito próximo ao sol, quando ele escapou do labirinto de Dédalo e não prestou atenção nas instruções de seu pai. Ele encaixa no tema principal do filme sobre a submissão à autoridade e o destino de um personagem, que chegou próximo da verdade.

Highly controversial examination of a magnicide from the viewpoint of an intelligent investigator . A recent and fictional re-elected President of a fictitious state has been assassinated, similar to death JFK's 1963 . As a magnicide takes place , then a determined , stubborn prosecutor investigates and while emerging a dark and twisted conspiracy behind it . In the course of his search he proves a different look at the strange deeds . In this especulation the investigator organizes an expert team and he finds evidence that casts serious doubt on the committee's "lone-gunman" theory. Things go wrong when happen deaths of many of those involved , including several witnesses , the supression or ignoring of evidence by others and as the event leading to unexpected consequences , adding a surprising finale .

The title "I for Icarus" is a metaphor from the Greek myth of Icarus. He died for flying too close to the sun when he escaped from the Daedalus' labyrinth, not listening to his father's instructions. It fits the main theme of the film about submission to authority and the destiny of a character, who came too close from the truth.
