Eye of the Devil (Olho do Diabo), de J. Lee Thompson (1966)

The story deals with a wealthy French nobleman (David Niven) who is called back to his ancestral castle when the crops fail. Due to his erratic behavior regarding this summons, wife Deborah Kerr becomes increasingly worried about Niven's safety. Against his orders, Kerr takes her children to his ancestral castle, where she witnesses many strange and eerie religious rites. The question then becomes, will Kerr be able to rescue Niven from a ritual sacrifice, and -- indeed -- does he wish to be saved?

Originally,  Kim Novak was cast in the role of Catherine de Montfaucon. Filming began in the fall of 1965 in France. Nearly every scene had been filmed when Kim Novak fell from a horse and wasn't able to complete her scenes. Production was suspended for two weeks, but when Novak attempted to return she found she could not continue. She later said she had fractured a vertebra.

Conta a estória de um rico nobre francês (David Niven) que é convocado para seu castelo ancestral quando as colheitas caem. Devido ao seu errático comportamento em relação a isso, a esposa Deborah Kerr fica cada vez mais preocupada com a segurança do marido. Contra as ordens dele, Kerr leva os filhos para seu castelo, onde ela testemunha muitos ritos estranhos e religiosos. A questão é se Kerr será capaz de resgatar Niven de um ritual de sacrifício e se ele deseja mesmo ser salvo? 

Originalmente, Kim Novak fora escalada para fazer o papel depois feito por Deborah Kerr. Com quase todas as cenas filmadas, Kim caiu de um cavalo e não conseguiu completar as cenas. A produção foi suspensa por duas semanas, mas quando Kim tentou voltar, ela viu que não conseguia. Mais tarde ela disse que havia fraturado uma vértebra.
